FAQs

How should I prepare for my spray tan?

Make sure to shave and exfoliate a minimum of 12 hours prior to your appointment. The day of your appointment make sure to shower and take off any lotions, perfume, or oils as it will affect the results of your tan. Wear dark, loose clothing and sandals.

Are there any contraindications for getting a spray tan?

Sunburned skin cannot be tanned until healed.

Retinol is not recommended for a week prior (or we can avoid spraying the areas it is used).

How should I time my spray tan?

Your spray tan will last 7-10 days and then need to be exfoliated off. The regular tan is an 8-12 hour rinse and the rapid is a 2-4 hour rinse depending on your desired color. If you are tanning for a special occasion it is recommended to receive your tan 1-2 days prior. Spray tanning is the last appointment you’ll want to make as nails, hair, or other services can take off the tan prematurely.

I just got sprayed and it looks uneven. How can I fix it?

Leave it alone, attempting to fix it could make it worse. It is not uncommon for tight clothing or other objects you have touched to misplace the bronzer. Once you rinse with water, you may still have some uneven color. Your full results won’t be visible until after you take a full body shower and use soap. If you have showered with soap and still see imperfections, ask your artist for tips or advice.

When can I shower?

When you get your spray tan make sure to listen to your aftercare instructions during your appointment. If you receive the regular spray tan, you can keep it on 8-12 hours or overnight, no longer than 24 hours. A rapid tan should be kept on 2-4 hours depending on desired color, this should have been apart of conversation at your appointment. Your first rinse for either tan should be water and hand wash only, with room temp water, pat dry with a towel. Your full body shower with soap should be at least a few hours later, if not overnight from the time of your rinse. During this shower you can use a loofah or washcloth but still use room temp water and pat dry with a towel. Your full body wash with soap should remove any remaining bronzer.

How can I keep my tan looking its best?

Before you rinse your tan for the first time, make sure to wear loose clothing that won’t rub on the tan causing it to come off. When sleeping you’ll want to be in a long sleeve, and long pants. Your first rinse is recommended to be room temp water only, no soap, and pat dry. Moisturizing and drinking water to stay hydrated is the best thing you can do for your tan. Excess sweat, water, and/or chlorine will take your tan off prematurely.
